Walk with me ......

Hi everyone!!  Today I'm not gonna blah blah blog in my normal fashion.... rather I'd like to take you on a walk with me!  I feel so priviledged to live and walk in this beautiful rain forest in Washington State every day this winter and for being able to see and experience some of the most beautiful and sacred places on Mother Earth in my life so far.  While I'm grateful I get to be alone on my walks and am quite at peace in my solitude here, I felt guided today to take you with me to the rain forest vicariously through poetry and pictures....so come along if you will....

WALK WITH ME.....

Every day is paradise in the Pacific Northwest,

she walks and skips through the majestic rain forest...

On an island called Lummi where the land is respected,

and cared for by the people as if it was expected...

She gazes up at the sky through the giant cedars,

knowing if they were human, they’d make powerful leaders...

Each branch an extension of its source

all working together with no trace of force...

Growing with the seasons year after year,

living in the moment, never knowing fear...

She apologizes for the humans and their blatant abuse,

and asks for forgiveness for our choosing to misuse...

For money and power and who can get the most,

a result of our egos, and hearts that have closed...

She expresses her love as she continues on her way,

breathing in the beauty of yet another day...

Carpets of moss cover tree trunks and rocks,

Mother Earth’s version of a warm pair of socks...

Ferns and dry cedar make up the floor,

the smell of dampness in the earth leaves her wanting more...

She will return again tomorrow to this magical place,

and she thanks the island people for protecting sacred space.

Road way thru the forest

My fave tree friend (not to play favorites but you know!)
brings the message of being flexible and unique...

tree friends....
more tree friends....

She gazes up at the sky through the giant cedars...
knowing if they were human, they'd make powerful leaders....
